Interview with David Bradley
Where and when were you born?
I was born in Trowbridge, the county town of Wiltshire, in July 1977.
Where do you live now?
I live with my wife Margaret in Sheffield.
What is your current job and what other jobs have you had?
I works as a web developer for a large publishing company, Garnett Dickinson, based just north of Rotherham. In the past I have worked as a sales assistant for Wickes and Safeway, more recently I have worked as a web developer for a small internet company in Leeds and for Hope Valley College in the Peak District.
Do you follow sport, if so, do you support any teams?
Yes I follow most sports. On the football front, I am a big supporter of Sheffield Wednesday. On the cricket front I am a supporter of Yorkshire. Formula 1 is another favourite sport of mine, I like to support all the British drivers, so at the moment I am supporting Jensen and Lewis.
Following on from that, as you were born in Wiltshire, why do you support Sheffield Wednesday and Yorkshire?
I didn't supported Sheffield Wednesday originally, I started supporting Liverpool, yes I admit I was a glory hunter, however, when they lost to Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup Semi-Final, I went off them. Then my Dad, who was born in Sheffield, took me to my first football match at Hillsborough, introduced me to the Owls and the rest is history. On the cricket front, it was once again thanks to my Dad, he is a big cricket fan and in particluar Yorkshire, and it was him once again that introduced me to Yorkshire by taking me to matches.
What do you get up to in your spare time?
I spend quite a bit of my time in the world of amateur theatre. I perform in around 3 musicals a year. I am a member and the publicity manager for both Handsworth & Hallam Theatre Company and Woodseats Musical Theatre Company, I also help behind the scenes for Splinters Theatre Group. In the past I have also performed with a few other amateur soceities within the Sheffield area.
